Jing-Jing Lee is responsible for personal data processed through this website and in connection with my manuscript consultations, creative-writing teaching, workshops, mentoring and related services.

What information I collect
When you contact me or enquire about a service, I may collect your name, email address, country or time zone, information about your writing project, and the questions or areas you would like to discuss.
If you book a service, I may also receive manuscript material, a synopsis, billing and payment information, and correspondence relating to the work.
When you use this website, Squarespace may process technical information about your visit, including information used for analytics and security.
Why I use your information
I use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess and provide services, communicate with clients, arrange consultations, issue invoices and receive payments, meet legal and accounting obligations, protect the website, and understand general patterns of website use through analytics.
Legal basis
Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, pursuing legitimate interests, or your consent where consent is required.
Manuscripts and confidentiality
I treat manuscripts and other creative material supplied for a consultation or editorial service as confidential. I use them only as necessary to provide the agreed service, administer the client relationship, comply with legal obligations, or protect legitimate interests.
I do not sell manuscripts or use them for unrelated commercial purposes.
The website and Squarespace
This website is hosted on Squarespace. Enquiries may be submitted through a Squarespace Form Block.
I use Squarespace Analytics. The site does not use a separate Google Analytics integration. Squarespace Analytics may process information about website activity, such as visits, page views, browser or device information, referrers, timestamps and IP-address information. I use this information to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
Cookies
The website uses essential cookies and, where permitted, Squarespace analytics/performance cookies. Non-essential cookies are currently restricted in Squarespace until a visitor makes a choice through the cookie banner where consent is required.

Other service providers
If you book a service, personal information may also be processed by providers I use for payment, email, video conferencing, scheduling, cloud storage, accounting or other necessary business functions.
International processing
Some service providers may process personal information outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, I use appropriate safeguards where required by applicable data-protection law.
How long I keep information
I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including statutory accounting or legal retention periods.
If an enquiry does not lead to a service, I will normally delete the information when it is no longer reasonably necessary. Manuscript materials are not retained indefinitely.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing, object to certain processing, and receive certain data in portable form. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent.
You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Security
I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
